Dual-Output Rotary Converters are also available.     These are great rotary converters for shops that operate a lot of equipment at times and other times only need to run one or two pieces of equipment.  This converter will save on your utility bills by lowering the idle current and still provide all the three phase power you need.   Give us a call for more information on this style of converter

Refrigeration Phase Converters
---On demand circuits (usually 24 volts) are designed into the phase converter itself to allow the converter to only start when the refrigeration unit needs to come on.  Saves on utility costs.  Air conditioning units,  walk-in coolers, ice machines, ice cream servers or any unit with a refrigeration compressor.

Explosion-Proof Rotary Converters---We probably manufacture more explosion-proof phase converters for the oil / gas industry then anyone else in the country.  Give us a call if you need a converter for hazardous locations.   For oil-gas remote areas controlled by satellite signal,  we can design the computer controls into the phase converter.   All we need is your code, frequency and zone classification.
Common sense in electric motors and phase converters will tell you that using a TEFC--Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled motor with a heavy duty cast iron frame will run cooler and last a lot longer then any type of "open" motor.  The windings and the bearings are protected from moisture and dust from entering the motor.   Both are protected by a totally enclosed frame and an external fan cools the fins of the motor.  A motor with a rolled steel frame  is only cooled by the fins on the rotor itself and as it sucks in air to cool the windings it is also sucking in dust, dirt and moisture.   Bugs and ants love the warmth of these type motors.   We always recommend a TEFC Rotary Motor but if you prefer an open/guarded style motor we can also manufacture it for you.    They are much cheaper for a phase converter manufacturer to purchase but they are not as reliable in the long run as a heavy duty cast iron rotary motor.
Give us a call at 1-800-549-6008 with the specifications of your equipment and we'll design a converter to match your specific application.
Sizing a Phase Converter:
How do you size a Rotary Phase Converter and then feel confident its going to work properly?
First,  understand the requirements of the load.
It also helps if you understand the difference between Horsepower and Torque.   For example,  a 5 Hp Drill Press does not have the same starting torque as a 5 Hp air compressor.    A rotary converter that will operate the drill press perfectly,  may not operate the air compressor or even start it.   Torque is a large consideration when sizing converters.
Phase Converters when sized properly for the load and the torque will operate your equipment trouble-free,   but if you get one too small.   Then,  its just like the movie "Jaw's".  You need a bigger boat to handle a shark of that size.
